Preventing addiction
There is an old saying:-
Preventing addiction is more effective than curing it.
Promotion of health- promote healthy lifestyle through personal and culture practices exercising and following good and healthy dietary pattern can be effective too.
Focus on people and encourage social interaction- the interaction between old and young can be effective and can minimise the generation gap and communication gap. That will also divert the mind of a person to indulge into various activities.
Involvement of youth and respect for cultural values- the activities you perform should involve the young children also and their culture, beliefs and opinions should also be respected.
Long term perspectives- don't get discouraged if the results are not immediate. Keeping a long term perspective is important.
Talking about it- one should not feel shame in talking about addiction openly. No one is born addict. One should not have the fear of being judged. As seeking for help is the best option.
Rehabilitation and NGO- rehabs and NGOs also play a vital role. As one can get a suitable environment there for deaddiction. Various therapies are also provided to in rehab centres. Person is been taken care of.
Motivation and positive reinforcement- it is an important aspect as one needs self motivation for leaving his dependence on drugs. Also family, friends and teachers can also provide the guidance and can support the person to leave his or her addiction. Family plays an important role here.
We become what we think- Buddha.
So positive thinking can create a positive action. So one may not indulge in such activities.
