THE MAN I DATED

I once dated a man who told me I lived in my own little bubble, where everything was a movie and things happened the way I wanted them to. He yelled in a fight " you're life is not some fucking book, Ayushi" - what?????????.......

His biggest problem with me usually was that I had dreams......" Unrealistic dreams" according to him. He seemed so bothered by this bubble of mine.

He wasn't the first man to have raised this you know, and he wasn't the last either. Most men made it a point to tell me I lived in a bubble. Infact it's not just men, even women would tell the same. But I routinely heard from the man I dated.

Do you wonder why they thought I lived in a bubble? What was it that made my expectations in life...so unrealistic?

The unrealistic notion in my head: "that I had a voice"
